The Ely Planning Company was founded by Wayne Chrzanowski. He has maintained a strong passion for architectural design since graduating university with honours in the 90's. Since then he has been involved in a multitude of projects. He has been fortunate to have worked for a number of leading RIBA architects and practices bringing along with him a handful of skilled professionals he now recruits to run The Ely Planning Company.
Amongst these professionals include, Architectural Technicians, Designers, Engineers and a friendly administrative team. Due to the diversity of his team the company are able to offer a competitive sliding scale of fees to accommodate any size project whether it is a domestic extension, or housing development the same care and attention is guaranteed throughout the process.
We are very passionate about our professional responsibilities and are always striving to give you the client 100% satisfaction. We are far from a normal working 9 till 5 practice and our achievements over the years certainly highlight these facts.
Ely Planning have a combined industry experience of over 35 years. Our team is made up of 3 full time professionals;
Founder and Managing Director, Wayne has been involved in some very challenging projects over his long career. He has built up good relationships with many local authorities throughout the East of England, both in the planning and building control departments.
Wayne has extensive knowledge on all aspects of Design and Planning. These days he tends to keep busy with the more complex sites that require a great deal of negotiations with the local authorities. Typically schemes that are out of development boundaries, listed buildings and green belt schemes. Projects range from one off units to multiple units.
In addition to negotiating approvals with the local authorities Wayne has a wealth of experience running projects, forming JCT Build Contracts, on site inspections, valuations and cost reporting including final accounts, practical completion and handover.
Dean Holme's is a graduate of DeMontfort University having obtained a degree validated by the RIBA he has excellent imagination skills, a good team player and communicator. Dean is an integral part of our design team. Dean has worked on projects along-side the Managing Director on large schemes, these projects include very challenging projects all outside the local development envelope on difficult sites. Projects range from single dwellings to multiple schemes of up to 70No. properties. Dean has also prepared extensive detail designs for a visitors centre and public library in Lincoln.
BA (Hons) M.Arch
Matthew is the newest member of the team and is already a valued member of staff having great communication skills and a good work ethic.
Matthew is an affiliated Part I and Part II RIBA member having completed both parts at the Arts University Bournemouth. Throughout his studies he has developed an interest in Healthcare and the connection between architecture, nature and health.
The majority of his time working has been within the educational sector, helping schools keep up with their growth in numbers and in line with regulations by refurbishment and new builds such as science blocks and sports halls in areas around Cambridge. Prior to this Matthew has also worked in architectural lighting working on a range of projects, from stores and cafés to entering competitions such as the Darc awards. During his year out was when he first experienced the residential sector but he has now worked on numerous residential projects within the company.
Todd has been with Ely Planning for a number of years now. He is a full member of the RIBD. Todd has a wealth of experience and is a great addition to the office. He has excellent imagination skills, he works well within a team or independently. Constantly developing new projects and dozens of ‘leads’ for the office. Todd is also head of our security department. Always a front runner who never backs down to challenges and obstacles that try and stop him from meeting his goals and aspirations. There’s no doubt if you call Todd today he will come running.
Experienced Architectural Technologist
We are currently seeking for an experienced Architectural Technologist to work in our office on a full time basis. You will need to have a sound understanding of all residential house building construction methods. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate well in house and to clients and contractors. A full understanding of current UK Building Regulations is a must along with a good working knowledge of AutoCAD. Revit experience is preferable but not essential.
